Creating listings

The Vintly wizard publishes a listing in four steps, without Vinted’s form. It fetches categories, brands, sizes, colours and attributes live from Vinted, and fills some fields in on its own so a listing takes a minute.

Four steps

  1. Photos
    Click the Click or drag photos box or drop files on it: JPG, PNG or WEBP, up to 10. The first photo is the cover. The arrows in a thumbnail’s corner change the order and the cross removes a photo. Nothing reaches Vinted before the last step.
  2. Category
    Type at least 2 characters, e.g. "dress" or "books", and pick a category from the list (it shows the full path, e.g. Women › Clothing › Dresses). The category decides the sizes, brands and attributes in the next step. Changing it clears brand, size and attributes.
  3. Details
    Title (3-100 characters), description (up to 2,000), a brand from Vinted’s list or typed by hand, size, category attributes, condition and colours. Starred fields are required.
  4. Price and parcel
    Price (min. 0.50 in your account’s currency) and the parcel size from Vinted’s list for the category. The summary shows the photo count, price and parcel. ✓ Create listing sends everything to Vinted.

Finished steps on the bar at the top are clickable, so you can go back and fix something. The Next → button stays disabled until the step is complete, and the yellow bar under the form says what is missing.

What Vintly fills in for you

To save you clicking every field, the wizard fills some values in itself. They are marked "auto" in the mock-up. Review them before publishing, because they go into the listing exactly as they are.

If Vinted rejects something, a red bar with a list of errors, one per field (e.g. a missing size), appears above the buttons. Fix them and click again; the photos upload again.

Do not switch tabs mid-way
The draft lives only in the open wizard. Going to another extension tab or reloading the Vinted page clears the form. Closing the panel with the cross is safe: when you reopen it, everything is where you left it.

Good practice

  • Cover on a plain background, item centred, no text on the photo: buyers see the thumbnail first.
  • In the title brand, type, size and a trait ("Nike Air Max 90 42 black"), because that is how people search.
  • In the description measurements and flaws; it saves you messages and returns.
  • Photograph a book so the barcode is readable: Vinted reads the ISBN from it.
